Directions to Canaveral Base

From I-95   | From the South on US-1   | From the North on US-1

So, you're on your way to what Ozzie calls "Canaveral Base". It's the house at 208 Canaveral Ave in Titusville FL that he lives in. Here's how to get here:

Travelling on I-95:

- Take Exit 220, marked SR-406 East, but called Garden St by the locals.
- Turn East coming off the exit.
- At the fourth light, turn right onto Hopkins Ave. (US-1 South)
- The next light you come to will be Main St.
- Turn Right (West) onto Main St
- You'll cross the railroad tracks of the Florida East Coast main line, and then come upon Boggs Gases on the right at the corner of Canaveral Ave. If you're arriving at night, this sign is helpfully lit up.
- Turn Right (North) onto Canaveral Ave.
- As soon as you turn into Canaveral, there will be a driveway on your left. It is marked "08" (because The "2" has broken off). The gate should be open. Turn into the driveway, then turn right as soon as you can. Just park in front of the house you're facing and honk the horn once. That alerts me to put down my e-book and come out and show you which door to use.

- Your car will be facing a porch, but the door you'll be using is to the right at the front of the "Sears Catalog Home" you'll be staying in.

Travelling on US-1
Coming North on US-1:

- You'll pass through most of Titusville along US-1.
- The highway splits at the Merit gas station, and becomes One-Way. The second stop light after the split is Main St. (the former bank building on the corner has a broken clock on it).
- Turn Left (West) onto Main St. You'll immediately hit the stop light at Hopkins Ave (the Southbound US-1).
- You'll cross the railroad tracks of the Floida East Coast main line, and then come upon Boggs Gases on the right at the corner of Canaveral Ave. If you're arriving at night, this sign is convieniently lit up.

Coming South on US-1:
- I defend Florida when people say we have no hills here. We have hills, but most people call them Overpasses.
- As you come down the hill of the Overpass (taking you over the Florida East Coast railroad tracks, which you won't otherwise notice yet), you'll come to a stop light where you can't miss the KFC, 7-Eleven,or CVS drug store on three of the four corners. The stop light after this is Main St.
- Turn right (West) onto Main St. - You'll cross the rail road tracks of the Florida East Coast mainline, and then come upon Boggs Gases on the right at the corner of Canaveral Ave. If you're arriving at night, this sign is helpfully lit up.
- Turn Right (North) onto Canaveral Ave. - As soon as you turn into Canaveral, there will be a driveway on your left. Turn into the driveway (the gate should be open), then turn right as soon as you can. Just park in front of the house you're facing.

- Your car will be facing a porch, but the door you'll be using is to the right at the front of the "Sears Catalog Home" you'll be staying in.
